Halar / HMWPE

A direct earth burial DC lead cable for use in deep anode ground bed installations. Designed to withstand corrosive gases in brackish water conditions.

The conductor is stranded bare copper conductor and conforms to ASTM specification B-8. The insulation is a homogenous wall of natural ECTFE floropolymer (Halar®) extruded over the conductor. The jacket is high molecular weight polyethylene conforming to ASTM D-1248, Type I, Class A, Category 5, Grades E4 and E5. Tensile strengths J1, 53. Available with High Density Polyethylene (Type II, III, IV) Class B and C (all colors). Surface printed. Sizes AWG 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2.

Different wall thickness of Halar and HMWPE as well as various colors are available on special request basis.

HALAR fluoropolymer offers a unique combination of properties which makes it particularly suited for cathodic-protection lead-wire insulation. It is rugged insulation which has excellent resistance to abrasion, impact, and notch propagation equal to HMWPE and superior to PVF2. Halar has excellent retention of electrical properties in chemical environments. Laboratory and field tests confirm that HALAR fluoropolymer is superior to PVF2 as an electrical insulating material for service in the brackish water environments of deep ground beds.

Kynar / HMWPE

A direct earth burial DC lead cable for use in deep anode ground bed installations. Designed to withstand corrosive gases in brackish water conditions.

The conductor is stranded bare copper conductor and conforms to ASTM specification B-8. The insulation is a homogenous wall of natural PVDF floropolymer (Kynar) extruded over the conductor. The jacket is high molecular weight polyethylene conforming to ASTM D-1248, Type 1, Class A, Category 5, Grades E4 and E5. Tensile strengths J1, 53. Available with High Density Polyethylene (Type II, III, IV) Class B and C (all colors). Surface printed. Sizes AWG 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2.

Different wall thickness of Kynar and HMWPE as well as various colors are available on special request basis.
